Tardzenyuy Bernard Ayenkea better known by his stylish
artist name Skiezy Ayenkea was born in a small village of Nso called Ndzenso on the 19th of May 1988. Based
in Dubai, this young Anglophone talent has never retracted from the musical
world of 237 ever since his muse first inspired him. From his crawling days back
in the village, he showed traits of an artist and performer for the future. Like
many young artists of today, he kept his musical dreams alive and continuously
nourished them till date. Before moving over to Dubai, Skiezy had sojourned in Nkomba-Mabanda
in Bonaberi, Douala where he came across other young talents like himself and
together they kept the dream alive by being part of a couple of music shows in
Douala and Buea.
Skiezy is a rapper and singer who’s known for developing
his own rhymes and crafting his own conception of what hip hop and rap should. This
has undeniably been gradually shining the spotlight on him eversince and back
from his university days. This talented
young artist realized earlier in his development of his musical career that it’s
not easy to climb the ladder of success alone. He understood that to get to the
high rungs of the musical food chain, an artist must collaborate and depend on
others. To this effect, he joined forces with a group called Nascent Boyz alongside his friend and partner Parker. Together,
they jump started their musical career in 1999/2000.
Lyrically speaking, Skiezy demonstrates his mastery of
the rap arts. His simple but enchanting rhyming parts capture without doubt the
musicality of his bars and consequently his songs. Holding in B.A in Literatures in English from the
university of Buea with a minor in Performing and visual arts has without doubt
contributed immensely to his ability to comprehend the complexity embedded with
rhyme and poetry. He therefore showcases his knowledge of linguistic artistry
in the way he conceives and delivers his lyrics in any song he does.
As earlier intimated, Skiezy Ayenkea is currently based
in Dubai but his musical soul is still settled in 237. Since music has always
been his first ‘wifey’ and since he has shown no signs of ever relenting in the
game, I make bold to say that I believe this is an artist the Anglophone hip
hop community can count on for superb things in the nearest future. Talking to
Kwata Vibes, Skiezy revealed that: “I will not relent in my effort to live my
footprint, to live a mark within this budding Musical Industry in 237.” Such a
statement shows his determination in growing the hip hop game in the country in
his own way, and of course this way entails going hard as never before.
This young rapper and singer alongside his crew have
blessed to work with great producers like Timo
Bass, Darice Etang, Z-Lex Blacson, DEA the Busker, Slim Beats,
Djudi etc. this is reason enough to
explain the quality of their songs I have heard this far. This quality I categorize
within the finest Anglophone Cameroon hip hop has to offer. Worthy of note is the fact that Skiezy’s debut songs were
recorded in 2002. Unfortunately, these songs can’t be found online because back
then, social media had really no impact
yet. This explains why these songs are still on tape recorders which are seemingly
no longer relevant today. However, Skiezy Ayenkea revealed that him and his
team were soon to undertake a project to retrieve these songs the tapea and
make them available digitally. (we waiting)

released a stunning and musically captivating track entitled VENALEALEN. ‘Venalealen’ from Lamnso roughly
translates into English as “watch him”. The song is a mix tape and is found on YouTube.
Skiezy Ayenkea exclusively revealed to Kwata Vibes that he is currently working
on an Album which will be out before the end of the year. He also confided to
Kwata Vibes that this forthcoming is entitled The Chase. Without much ado about nothing since all has been said
about the versatility of this young Anglophone 237 rap artist, we all keep our
hands crossed while waiting for The Chase.
