Henry Edet a Former Catholic priest
ditched his priestly vows and took the bull by the horn. Him and Miss Inyene
Sampson on Saturday the 17th of March tied the knot in a heavily
attended and flamboyant wedding ceremony. The also very colorful traditional
wedding had earlier taken place on Wednesday the 14th of March 2018.
The
wedding reception took place at Ibom Hall, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state Nigeria with a mammoth
turnout.The former priest and his new wife, Inyene Sampson Akpan- a graduate
of University of Uyo were all smiles and in complete excitement as guests gathered in their numbers to witness
the event .
It should be noted that Patrick Edet had earlier announced his resignation from
priesthood in August 2017 during his radio programme “Grace and Inspiration” on
Planet FM.
I guess this gesture by now a former priest is a move to be
applauded and encouraged. Why? Rather than stay as a priest and stain the
cassock with immoral frolicking, you will agree with me that it is better to
give it up and marry if u have found the love of your life. It is not uncommon
to hear of very promiscuous priests today, those who sleep around with Christians,
peoples’ wives and have several kids with young girls and so on. This said,
Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Patrick Henry Edet.
