PRESIDENT PAUL BIYA RETOUCHES CABINET

THE CAMEROONIAN CABINET IS RESHUFFLED ONCE MORE
DOES THIS RESHUFFLE MEET THE EXPECTATIONS OF CAMEROONIANS?
ARE THE YOUTH PROPERLY REPRESENTED THIS TIME AROUND?
                                                             By Tina Sparkles

Atanga Nji Paul: Minister of Territorial Administration
Yesterday 2nd March 2017 during the evening news on the National TV and radio, it was announced that the Cameroonian Cabinet has been once more reshuffled, this doesn’t come as a shock to many Cameroonians as such ventures have been a common yearly or bi-yearly phenomenon in the past years. This time around the results are certainly raising eyebrows.
The appointments and transfers to note in this year’s shakeup are those of Mr Atanga Nji Paul who is now shifted from the position of Minister in Charge of Special Duties at the Presidency (a post which many Cameroonians mocked as being a post given as consolation price for they believed he was a ‘Minister without portfolio’) to Minister of Teritorial Administration. It should be noted that Mr Atanga Nji Paul recently became very infamous among his English Speaking Kin for having alleged on National TV that there was no Anglophone Problem; a statement which was met with lots of criticism and hate consequently giving the Anglophone Problem a different twist.
Also worthy of note is the appointment of Mrs Pauline Nalova Lyonga Egbe as Minister of Secondary Education she is also very highly unappreciated in the English Section of the Country given her somewhat unconventional actions within the University of Buea as Vice Chancellor which probably led to her being transferred to La Quintini Hospital in Douala as Board Chair. This year’s cabinet shake sees approximately the same names moving around and merely changing postures rather than new faces making their entrance into the top managerial positions of the country. Below is the full list of appointments and transfers;
Nalova Lyonga: Minister of Secondary Education
1Minister of Territorial Administration : Atanga Nji Paul
Minister of Decentralisaation and Development: Elang Obam George
3Minister of Water and Energy: Eloundou Essomba Gaston
4Minister of the Economy and Plannification: Alamine Ousmane Mey
5Minister of Secondary Education: Nalova Lyonga Pauline
6Minister of Finance: Motaze Louis Paul
7Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Reform: Joseph Le
8Minister of Forestry and Wildlife: Ndongo Jules Doret
9Minister of Transport: Ngalle Bihehe Ernest
Minister Delegate at the Ministry of Economy and Plannification in charhe of Plannification: Tasong Tchountang Paul
1Minister Delegate at the Ministry of Finance: Yaouba Abdoulaye
1Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of collaboration with Commonwealth: Mbayu Felix
1Ministers in charge of missions at the Presidency: Rene Sadi and Dion Ngute Joseph
1Minister Secretatry General at the Presidency: Elung Paul Che
1Director of the Civil Cabinet at the Presidency: Mvondo Ayolo Samuel
1Deputy Director of the Civil Cabinet: Osvalde Baboke
The questions that seem to be on every Cameroonian lip are: Did this retouching meet the   expectations of Cameroonians? Are the youths properly represented given that they are the leaders   of  tomorrow? And of course the whereabouts of President PAUL BIYA and Government Spokesperson ISSA TCHIRUMA.
